4 Things Jennifer Lopez Can Teach You About Blogging

I have seen Jennifer Lopez in about ten commercials this week that I can think of just off the top of my head. The woman is nothing if not, prolific.
She has won numerous awards, appears in and produces major motion films, performs in music and TV shows (hello? American Idol) plus is a spokeswoman for numerous numerous products.
In other words, is there a bigger, more popular Latina on this planet? No. At least not any I can come up with. Other than Sofia Vergara of Modern Family fame, Jennifer Lopez is insanely popular and just as insanely successful.
But why? And what can she teach YOU about blogging. Below we discuss.
1. Jennifer Re Invents Herself Regularly – Who can remember when Jennifer Lopez associated with P Diddy? They supposedly were even rumored to be engaged at one point. However something happened that affected the reputation of J Lo and instead of letting it take her down. She re invented herself and parted ways with party boy P Diddy and instead focused on her music and movies. She didn’t want that sort of attention, so she did something about it. If you have a certain reputation and something happens whether by your own fault (or someone else’s) don’t accept the limitation, change and do something about it.
2. Jennifer Can Scale, Like No Other – As I mentioned in the beginning of this article, Jennifer Lopez is a spokeswoman for about 10 different products just from TV commercials I have seen recently. Everything from shaving cream to hair coloring and Fiat cars to Verizon cell phones. The woman is everywhere, in other words – she knows how to scale like the best of them. How can you parlay this into your blogging career? Do you have books you can write and sell, maybe offer additional services, align yourself with a partner and create an iPhone or Android app. When you scale you spread parts of yourself around and make your brand bigger. Find ways to do this.
3. Jennifer Knows The Value In Diversifying – this kind of similar to scaling except that it involves not putting all your eggs in one basket. She doesn’t and neither should you. Instead of solely focusing on music, she branched out into movies, TV, fashion, perfumes and more. With blogging, it’s good to diversify as well by not relying on any one source of traffic such as Google, social media or email marketing. Instead use all three and more. If you normally write on online marketing, how about adding to the mix and writing about social media, SEO, WordPress and so on. Try to add as much to your mix as you can handle.
4. Jennifer Lopez Dominates Her Niche – Can you think of another Latina that dominates hern niche like J Lo does? We can’t. She is the queen bee in her sphere and rules it well. She is known in her circle as someone who can deliver when it comes to the box office, music sales and so on. How can you dominate your niche with your blog? Maybe you need to reach out to others and start guest posting to get the word out on your site, business or product. Maybe you should update your blog more? Or it could be that your product needs an overhaul and re launched? Whatever it is you can do to become or be seen as an authority in your niche – do it. Do it today. Do it now.
