If the amount i'm outlaying is under $20 bucks or so, i probably won't dig too deep, as the loss (if any) won't be too drastic. But on a higher ticket item, whether an ebook (or m.ship site, wp theme, etc) it is smart to take a good look at the source, and go from there. I don't know how someone can have a "bad experience" from an ebook, other than maybe some disappointment.
